Sat in the front of the bus, moving ahead. Dreaming. There must be somewhere we are moving towards. What is that? Let’s dream it together. Let’s claim our right to the city, let’s claim our right to free movement, let’s dream of a new way of building, therefore creating, therefore living, therefore being. We build the cities and they shape our lives. Let us consider what shapes we want to see. The city’s heartbeat is that of its people and the veins are that of its roads. This is where and how the life rhythm of the city emerges in a chaotic dance. Ebbs and flows of different beats finding harmony of rhythm. We must move together, move beyond the unnecessary individualised machine vehicle, beyond the idol of conspicuous consumption that is the SUV in the city. Moving together, stop by stop. Taking our time. Against the hyper-mobility of the city’s delirious rhythm. Moving beyond this, ‘potentially generates a deeper understanding of the natural constraints within which we operate on this planet, which is essential to the re-enchantment of the world’.
